It’s still early in the season but there are fish biting. Lots of perch have been caught from the South shore of the bay and further out in the water. Minnows seem to be what’s working best for the perch. Pickerel have been hit or miss with some boats bringing in a few and others coming up empty. We will continue to provide fishing updates for the 2017 season as the water warms up.

Thank you everyone, it has been a great summer of fishing.  There is still the odd boat going out and catching a few, they are heading East to 65ft of water just at the rockline. One boat yesterday had 4 walleye and 2 steelhead. No sure what the program is, but I would guess it has Jerry Lee in it.

The same mix of fish have been getting caught  in the same area just east of the point aux pins at a depth of 60-70 feet. The fish are being caught around 35-40 feet and even a little deeper in the afternoon, closer to the bottom. Dipsys are placed out at the same 80-90 feet out on a 1 setting and 110-130 out on a 3 setting. Riggers are also the same at about 40 feet down. Spoon colours are the same as orange, purple and gold seem to be hot with copper backs. Hotlips and jets are still running on the same program as well 120 feet back off the planers.
