One more sleep until the Derby starts, and the fishing is Fantastic. Everyone has been doing well on the Walleyes, even I got out last night. We started 40ft of water South of the Lighthouse and trolled East to the White stake at the Point of Pins, never getting into 50ft of water. Riggers were working well 33ft down, dipsys staring 80 back on a 2 setting 100 back on a 3 setting. Fire Lizard, UV Rainbow Goose and UV Wild Goose work the best. We took 30 Walleyes in two hours, that is good fishing.
Well two more sleeps until the the 38th annual fishing derby starts. The walleye fishing is great, boats are running straight out to 50ft of water and East off the white stake in 50ft of water. Their seems to be no pattern, fish are anywhere from 20 to 40ft. Copper Greasy Chicken or along those lines seem to be the best colours. I have heard of a few Steelhead being caught in the top 15ft, using 3 colour leadcore.
Well the weather has not been on your side the last few days. But the few boat that went out this week caught some fish at the Point of Pins white stake, and trolling south out to 55ftof water. The fish seem to be in the top 25ft of the water. As for spoon colours still the copper is the best.
